Biography

Mr. Carlson is a Senior Executive Consultant with Long International. He is an experienced executive with extensive experience in petroleum refining and associated industries. Mr. Carlson is a subject matter expert concerning refinery project development and execution, project start up, commercial and optimization processes, value delivery, operations excellence, technical troubleshooting, maintenance and turnaround processes.

During his career, he has been involved in major refinery projects valued up to US$600 million. He has also overseen over US$100 million per year in commercial “better option” value and over US$50 million per year in “Value Chain Optimization” project initiatives. As a past Vice President, Refinery Manager, Vice President Operations and Technical and Vice President of Optimization, Mr. Carlson implemented processes and procedures to increase commercial and plant value delivery, develop and manage projects, commission grassroots and revamp projects, and improve reliability. He also has a demonstrated ability to build and lead successful and sustainable teams in corporate or refinery settings, affect culture change, improve safety and environmental performance.
