On behalf of an owner, provided litigation support, database management system development, and assessment of the technical design, cost and schedule overruns, and start-up problems of a coal gasification project.

On behalf of a purchaser of LNG from an LNG production facility, evaluated potential causes of an explosion and fire that delayed LNG production and loading of LNG to tankers.

Evaluated the merits of a schedule delay claim submitted by a pipe fabricator on a GTL project in Nigeria. Also assisted the owner in settlement negotiations.

On behalf of the owner of an LNG project, reviewed an EPC contractor's values for reimbursable subcontracts and other estimated reimbursable costs and prepared a schedule and cost risk analysis. Preparing expert reports as part of an arbitration proceeding.

On behalf of an owner, analyzed rework costs caused by defective engineering and poor project management performance by the EPCM contractor of a LNG facility. Developed a basis for estimating the rework costs and prepared several comprehensive reports that the owner used to facilitate a large settlement against the contractor.

On behalf of an insurance company, analyzed delays related to the construction of an LNG terminal in New Brunswick. The delay analysis included equipment to unload tanker, transfer to LNG storage tanks, vaporization of the LNG, and metering of the gas as it was introduced into a natural gas pipeline. The owner filed the claim because materials were lost overboard at sea in severe weather while being shipped to the site.

On behalf of an owner, provided schedule quality assurance services regarding a gas supply expansion project. Evaluated schedule metrics and appropriateness of the critical path of the baseline schedule.

Prepared CPM fragnets depicting schedule delays. Analyzed productivity losses on a natural gas liquefaction project.

On behalf of a major international oil company, analyzed the quantum aspects of an EPC contractor’s $130 million delay and changed conditions claim. The claim involved the relocation of a gas processing plant project site after construction had commenced because of the discovery of unfavorable soil conditions. Prepared an expert report and rebuttal expert report and testified in ICC arbitration. The EPC contractor’s claim was denied, and the owner’s liquidated damages claim was upheld.

On behalf of an owner of an LNG plant, assessed an EPC contractor’s expert’s quantification of costs incurred at the module fabrication yards and the contractor’s quantification of its management personnel costs during the delay period. Prepared two expert reports submitted as part of arbitration proceedings.
